The Royal Academy of Dance - R.A.D

The Royal Academy of Dance is one of the world’s most influential dance education organisations. Their exams set standards in classical ballet worldwide and they are a global leader in dance education and Continuing Professional Development

The RAD is dedicated to making dance accessible to all ages with opportunities for anyone to achieve through examinations and presentation classes

Founded in 1920 they have a presence in 79 countries, with 36 offices and over 14,000 members worldwide.

The RAD’s patron is her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

 RAD Grades and Vocational levels

Kinder Ballet

The curriculum is specifically designed to introduce the preschooler to fundamental dance skills the focus is on physical skills, perceptual skills, social learning and musicality. Emphasis is having fun with movement and music, teaching confidence,  and encouraging creativity. 

 Graded levels 1-8 

Provide a strong foundation in classical dance and character work

Vocational levels Intermediate Foundation -Solo Seal

 Provide the training from which a student can progress to full time training and a career in dance

Silver Swans 

A programme specifically for the older adult learner and tailored to the mature dancer

Enjoyment and a sense of performance is at the heart of this wonderful class. Whether you have dance before or have always wanted to join us to find your inner dancer. Classes are carefully delivered to take into consideration each individuals health and fitness level.

 

International Syllabus of Teachers Dancing - I.S T.D

This syllabus promotes an appreciation and enjoyment of jazz dance through both understanding and performance.

Similar to the RAD the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance is an internationally recognised  dance education organisation with its roots in the UK 

Its Modern Theatre syllabus is used in the top theatre schools in the UK and worldwide and provides a strong foundation for a career in commercial dance.

The I.ST.D provides a comprehensive selection of exams and awards to keep children interested and rewarded..

This world renowned tiered syllabus aims to encourage different qualities of movement and promote musicality and rhythmic awareness.

 BBO -British Ballet organisation 

provides syllabus options including , Musical Theatre and Contemporary classes.
